Our Team
At Stronghold we prioritise a direct line of communication between the students, owners, and coaches. All of our owners are fellow martial artists and have been training together for many years. They can regularly be seen training together with our students in class. This helps the students have a direct line of communication between the owners and instructors. Our classes are taught by a husband and wife, and the kids and spouses of our team train in classes frequently.

Luke started his Martial Arts Journey 20 years ago in America and has been teaching in schools or martial arts academies in Asia for the last 8. He has a background in Amateur Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and has extensive competition experience. Luke had fought professionally in MMA, competed in amateur wrestling, BJJ competitions, and has worked as a judge and referee for professional bouts. Luke has coaching experience ranging from local kids competitions all the way up to coaching professional fighters in ONE Championship. He is also a regular judge for ONE Championship and has judged world championship fights including fighters such as Demetrius Johnson, Christian Lee, and Angela Lee.
Luke has spent many years training, studying, and travelling all while teaching martial arts and in secondary schools. He was a teacher at the Chinese and Korean international schools for three years before transitioning to a full-time martial arts instructor. He has since taught martial arts in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and has combined his experience as a martial artist and educator to craft a training program that sets students up for success by instilling solid fundamentals, an emphasis on technique, and setting a positive environment for everyone to grow in.

Charmaine Lim Leasure is a highly skilled martial artist, dedicated gym manager, and influential coach. With a passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, she holds a Brown Belt and excels in teaching children's programs.
With over 8 years of experience in boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and both gi and no-gi Jiu Jitsu, Charmaine brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. She has successfully coached and mentored students in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, consistently delivering high-quality training.
As our top female trainer, Charmaine plays a pivotal role in empowering and guiding female practitioners. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her competition achievements, including a Gold Medal at the Copa De Borneo as a Blue Belt and a Gold Medal in her division and a Silver Medal in the Open Weight Category at the ADCC Singapore trials. She has consistently medaled at various belt levels, most recently earning a bronze in the ADCC Singapore Pro division.
Charmaine's expertise, leadership, and dedication make her an invaluable asset to Stronghold. Her tireless efforts in managing the gym, coaching children, and fostering a supportive training environment contribute to the success and growth of the academy.
She is an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has won Gold as a Blue Belt at the Copa De Borneo as well as the ADCC Singapore trials - where she attained a Gold Medal in her division and a Silver Medal in the Open Weight Category. She has medaled at every belt including silver in the purple belt division at the SGBJJO tournament and recently got a bronze in ADCC Singapore Pro division.

Darius Zawadzki is a Polish Born BJJ black belt from evolve MMA. Now a Singapore Citizen, Darius has over 20 years of martial arts experience including Muay Thai, Boxing, and BJJ.

Shaun is a Lawyer, long time martial artist and founder of Stronghold MMA. He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and an assistant coach.
